On 22-23 September 2021, we hosted Achilles Connect: Sustainable Energy with the aim of sharing best practice and promoting sustainability in the supply chain.
As the energy transition takes centre stage for the oil and gas industry, the race to net zero is well underway for the utilities sector. To share best practice, we reached out to the energy industry to bring together a range of speakers covering the main sustainability topics that matter most to you.
Across the two days, we saw attendees from 20 countries, 69% of which were in the UK and 15% from Norway, watching exciting presentations, taking part in one-to-one networking, customer success workshops and more.
Prioritising Sustainable Energy
According to Sally Uren, CEO of Forum for the Future, “there are changes in attitudes and higher expectations from this (millennial) generation on how businesses respond to sustainability challenges.”
Which leads us to question, how prepared are businesses for the sustainability agenda driven by a workforce made up of 50% of millennials by 2025?
We conducted a sustainability survey in September 2021 and found that on average 52% of companies globally do not have a sustainable procurement strategy in place despite the growing need for sustainable suppliers in all sectors.
